Back in September, Apple unveiled its first ever wireless earphones along with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. At the event, Apple announced that the new earphones will see a late October launch, but with no specific date. However, while the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have already been available for purchase, the AirPods are nowhere to be found in the market.
Apple officially announced that the AirPods would not make their entrance into the market within the original late October launch window, however, Apple did not mention when the AirPods would launch. According to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News, Apple might launch its brand new wireless earphones sometime in January 2017. This means that Apple will miss this year’s holiday shopping season. Last year, Apple sold thousands of Apple Watches, starting at 299 USD, on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

According to sources, the January launch of the AirPods will boost the profit, as AirPods manufacturing supplier Inventec is expecting to grow seven percent in 2017 in an attempt to generate revenues of 23.83 billion USD following gloomy Q4 2016 earnings forecast.
Apple confirmed that the AirPods offer up to 5 hours of music playback and high-quality sound, all through an automatic connection between iOS devices and they work best with iOS 10. The new wireless AirPods are one of the many daring changes Apple introduced to the public this year from the removal of the headphone jack to the new lockscreen. The AirPods have been met with a lot of harsh criticism thanks to its high price and perceived ability to fall out of one’s ear.
This year, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as well as the new 4-inch iPhone SE. This year’s iPhone models may not come with an overhauled design, but they do have a slew of new additions that we have never seen before, and the AirPods rank undoubtedly one of them.
