Facebook is now the most popular social network in the world thanks its user base of over one billion. Facebook has always been putting out of updates in order to improve user experience and compete with other social networks in the market. Facebook has just launched a brand new weather forecast section for its iPhone and iPad app powered by Weather.com.
According to tech experts, the today’s move serves as Facebook’s plan to encourage users to stay inside of its app as long as possible. Facebook says that users can get a detailed 24-hour forecast and they can access directly weather forecasts from their News Feed on desktop or via the More button right in the mobile app.
In reality, Facebook added weather greetings to its app a year ago, so today’s move aims to expand the feature. According to Facebook, the idea behind the new weather forecast section is to develop products that connect users “to the things they care about most and create moment of joy in people’s day.”
For users who want to access Facebook’s brand new weather forecast section on their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, they first need to launch the Facebook app from the home screen and tap More at the bottom-right of the screen (it looks like a hamburger). Once done, scroll down a little bit and you will find “Weather” here. If you don’t see the “Weather” option, all you need to do is to tap See More to reveal all the hidden sections.
To make the most use of the new feature, you’d better enable your location option on your iPhone. If you want to find out what the weather is like in other cities in the world, you simply need to tap on Settings to access additional options. Besides, you can easily remove cities from the list and have direct access to Weather.com from the app.
