The idea behind restrictions is to help your better manage your iPhone or iPad, prevent other users from making changes to your device settings, block access to some iOS apps, disallow certain content types and even more. iOS restrictions are now mostly used in academic and public environments to limit access to devices.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you forget the Restrictions password in iOS. This could be a big trouble because Restrictions passcode acts as a separate and different passcode from your iOS device passcode which you use to unlock your screen.
In this guide, we will run you through the steps to reset restrictions password on iPhone and iPad. Before we begin, note that to reset a restriction password, you have to reset your entire iPhone or iPad to factory settings, meaning that all your content will be erased, so we recommend you create a backup of your device using iTunes and iCloud.
Steps to reset restrictions password on your iPhone and iPad
Make sure you have made a full back up of your device before moving ahead. If not, do it first to avoid data loss.
Step one: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Once you are in all you have to do is to scroll down to Reset and tap on it to proceed
Step two: On the Reset page, all you need to do is to select “Reset All Content and Settings”. Doing so will erase everything on your iPhone or iPad, things like pictures, videos, contacts, notes, apps will be removed from your device
Step three: Tap on it and confirm that you want to erase everything from your device. Once you are done, your device will reboot and you now can set it up as new
The above-mentioned solution seems to be the last chance of recalling or obtaining the set Restrictions passcode. That’s why we don’t recommend it for all. It is highly recommended you try to recall the passcode like asking your friends or family before moving ahead
