Step one: First off, you need to launch the Settings app from your home screen and tap on Mail to proceed
Step two: Once you are in, you simply need to tap on Accounts at the top and select Add Account. After that, all you have to do is to select a mailing service from the list. In this guide, we are going to take Google as an example
Step three: Tap on Google and you will be asked to enter your email and password. If you have 2-factor authentication turned on, you will a page for that
Step four: Once your Google email account is now linked, select what services you want to enable. You will be presented with four services including Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Notes. By default, Email will be checked automatically and you can choose to enable other services
Step five: Once you are done, all you have to do is to launch the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad and wait for new emails to show up
Steps to set fetch frequency for your email accounts
One of the most annoying things with using the Mail app with a Google account is that it does not include push notification support, meaning that you will not be notified when a new mail comes in. You can follow the steps below to set fetch frequency for your Google mail account
Step one: First off, you need to open the Settings app from your home screen and select Mail to proceed
Step two: Once you are in, you simply need to select the Google account. Once you are done, tap on Fetch New Data at the bottom
Step three: Select the frequency. If you select hourly, the Mail app will check every hour for new mails. We recommend you select hourly to save your battery life on your device.
