iOS 12 version has a “shortcuts’ integration for Siri, which will prove a well-timed shot in the arm of this virtual assistant. Although the long-awaited “Shortcuts” app is not available yet, you can still create Siri shortcuts with the help of Workflow app on your iPhone/iPad running iOS 12. You can be taken a peek at how the custom phrase will work in allowing you to carry out your frequent tasks in a few seconds.
For example, if you like keeping track of Apple’s stock price, you can simply create a phrase like “show the stock price” and you will then be able to get the real-time stock price by just talking to Siri “show the stock price”. So, follow below steps to get started!
How to Create Siri Shortcut using Workflow App
Step 1: Open Workflow app on your iPhone/iPad.
Step 2: Now, there are two options for you: create a new workflow or open the existing one.
I think most of you will start from the scratch. Next, choose the type of workflow that you’d like to build and then drag actions from the left. To make it completed, simply tap on Done at the top right corner.
You now have to give a name to your action. To do so, tap on the Settings icon and then type in the name and tap Done.
Step 3: Go to Settings on your device and choose Siri & Search option.
Step 4: Check the workflow that you have just created under Shortcuts section again. Tap on the + button near the workflow.
Step 5: Tap on the red button to start recording your phrase.
Once you have completed recording it, tap on Edit if you want to check the alternative phrase options. This is very handy especially in case Siri is not able to catch you properly. If you are not satisfied with your result, you can record it again
Step 7: Once done, tap on Done.
