How To Find UDID On Apple iPhone XR

Due to unknown reasons, iTunes no longer shows UDID of the new iPhone XR, unlike earlier models like iPhone 8 Plus. However, you should not worry, as there are still a few workarounds to overcome the roadblock.

Before proceeding, you should know that UDID stands for Unique Device Identifier and is a code to identify a device. It’s important with developers for multiple purposes like installing apps, registration, and so on. If you are looking for methods to find the UDID on your new iPhone XR, then read on this post.

How to Find UDID of iPhone XR

For 2018 iPhones, Apple has already tweaked the format of UDID. The new format comes in form of 0000CHIP-000ECID. But, there are still three ways to find out the UDID of 2018 iPhones. Simply check out how they work!

Get iPhone XR UDID Using Xcode

If you decided to choose this first method, you should know that it’s rather painful. You need to have a plenty of patience to get your iPhone XR UDID code. But it’s a safe method. So, if you don’t bother digging a bit, we recommend you to check out the steps below.

Step 1: Download Xcode tool on your Mac if you haven’t already. Your Mac needs to be running on macOS 10.13.6 or later version to use this app.

Note: The installation of Xcode will take a while, so you should be a bit more patient to wait until it’s done.

Step 2: Now, plug your iPhone into the Mac with a USB cable.

Step 3: Launch Xcode app, click on Window then choose Devices and Simulators. You can also enter Command + Shift + 2 keys to open it

Step 4: Make sure to select Devices tab.

Next, simply check the Identifier, which is the UDID of your iPhone XR. Once you’ve got the ID, copy it and use it whenever you want.

View the UDID of iPhone XR Using Mac 

This method is pretty easy to follow but it’s only secure if you have a Mac.

Step 1: Plug your iPhone into your Mac.

Step 2: Click on Apple menu at the top right and then choose “About This Mac.”

Step 3: Click on System Report.

Step 4: Click on USB in Hardware section

Step 5:  Next click on your iPhone.

Step 6: Note Serial Number label and copy the number next to it. After that, paste it in a note. You now have to add a (hyphen) after the 8th digit.

The serial number looks like 000011114567899 and once it’s included the hyphen, it will be: 00001111-4567899. That’s your iPhone’s UDID.

Get UDID of iPhone XR Without iTunes

Step 1. Open Safari on your iPhone and visit

Step 2: Hit “Tap to Show UDID” and there will be a popup saying, “This website is trying to open Settings to show a configuration profile. Would you like to allow this?” Simply tap on Allow.

Step 3: The Show My UDiD Check profile will open in Settings app. Simply, tap on Install at the top right.

Step 4: As soon as you install the configuration profile, you will be redirected to a site where you will see your iPhone’s UDID.

That’s it! You now simply take a screenshot of the ID or note so that you no longer have to go through the same steps again.
