Apple Watch is one of the most desired smartwatches on the market, with millions of units sold. The Cupertino company has been working on improving its smartwatch lineup since the day one, expanding its usefulness beyond just being able to show time and date. You now can do a lot more with your watch like getting sport scores, weather forecasts, and receiving iPhone’s notifications.

However, Apple Watch has its own issues. A lot of Apple Watch owners have recently reported that they cannot receive notifications on their smartwatch. There could be any reason for why your Watch fails to show notifications, ranging from disconnected iPhone to software issues.

In this guide, we are going to show you the steps on how to fix an Apple Watch that fails to show notifications. Before we begin, make sure you now have a modern software update of watchOS. If not, update your watch first.

  1. Do Not Disturb

Do Not Disturb is one of the biggest additions to watchOS. Once enabled, the feature automatically silences notifications from your apps. This comes in handy if you are in the middle of something and you cannot answer or see your notifications. However, Do Not Disturb mode may cause your Watch to fail to show notifications. So, it’s a good idea to turn it off.

To do this, open the Watch app on your iPhone (make sure your iPhone is now paired with your watch) and then select My Watch tab at the bottom. After that, tap on General, select Do Not Disturb and turn off the switch for Mirror iPhone.

  1. Set up notifications on your Apple Watch

One of the best things when it comes to Apple Watch lies in the ability to mirror your iPhone’s settings. This means that you can get notifications from a specific app on both iPhone and Apple Watch. However, if you don’t get notifications on your Watch, there’s a good chance that you have not set up notifications. Here is how.

Step one: First off, open the Watch app on your iPhone and then select My Watch tab

Step two: Select Notifications and then tap on an app you wish to receive notifications on your Watch

Step three: Now just simply tap Mirror My iPhone to complete the task.

  1. Cover to Mute

Cover to Mute is a great option that allows you to quickly mute your Apple Watch. All you need to do is to rest your palm on your display to cover it for at least 3 seconds. If you cannot get notifications on your Apple Watch, then it’s time to turn it off.

To turn off Cover to Mute option, open the Watch app on your iPhone, then select My Watch tab and turn off the switch for Cover to Mute option under the Sounds and Haptics section.

  1. Wrist Detection

Wrist Detection is a smart feature that automatically detects when you are wearing your Apple Watch or when not. To turn off Wrist Detection, launch the Watch app, then select My Watch and tap on General. Once you are in, turn off the switch for Wrist Detection.
