iPhone cannot connect to Wi-Fi? Here is how to fix it

Apple iPhone is a great phone out there, but that does not mean that everything runs smoothly all the time. Apple iPhone has its own issues that may pull you off, ranging from app crashes to frozen keyboard. A lot of iPhone owners have reported that their iPhone fails to connect to Wi-Fi network. Before we do anything, make sure that you now have a modern version of iOS on your device. To update your iOS, head to Settings > General > Software Updates and install any available updates.

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on

The first thing you need to do is to turn off Wi-Fi on your iPhone. To do this, fire up the Control Center in iOS and turn off Wi-Fi. Once you are done, turn Wi-Fi back on and try re-connecting to your Wi-Fi network to see if the problem is fixed.

From the Control Center, make sure you have already disabled Airplane mode. Keeping Airplane mode enabled prevents your iPhone from connecting to mobile data and Wi-Fi network.

  1. Force restart your iPhone

If the above-mentioned solution does not work for you, then try force restarting your device to see if the problem is fixed. If you now own an iPhone X, then the method used to force restart your device is slightly different than past iPhone models.

To force restart your iPhone X, press and quickly release the Volume Up button. After that, press and quickly release the Volume Down button and then press the Side button. Make sure keep the Side button pressed until the screen turns black.

  1. Reset your network settings

If the problem still persists, then try resetting your network settings. Following this method, all of your current network settings will go back to factory settings, with data remaining the same.

To reset iPhone’s network settings, open Settings from your home screen, then tap General and hit Reset. After that, simply hit Reset Network Settings and then confirm your action.

  1. Turn off Location Services

The Location Services feature has been an essential part of iOS for years, letting your friends know where you are. This comes in handy if you frequently travel to unfamiliar locations. However, the feature may lead to several iPhone issues like poor battery life, app crashes, and Wi-Fi issues.

To turn off Location Services in iOS, launch the Settings app on your iPhone. After that, tap Privacy and turn off the switch next to Location Services.  You can also turn off Location Services for individual apps. To do this, select the app and then select Never.

  1. Restore your iPhone to factory settings

If none of the above solutions works for you, then the last hope for success is to restore your device to factory settings. Doing so will remove everything from your iPhone, so make sure you already have a backup of your device. To restore your device, open Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
