The TV app on iPhone allows you to access  all your entertainment content in one app. In detail, you don’t need to individually search through your favorite apps such as Netflix, Hulu. You simply use the TV app that helps you see what’s up next and look at watching options for the streaming services you’re signed up with and movies, TV shows available in the iTunes Store.

You can download movies and TV shows from the iTunes store in Good or Best Available playback quality. If you want to play High Definition or Standard Definition, you can find Purchases and Rentals from the iTunes Store. Besides, by visiting the Settings for each individual app, you can change the playback quality of shows you watch from Netflix, Hulu, etc.

How to Change Playback Quality for iTunes Videos in the TV App

Step 1: You need to go to the Settings app on iPhone

Step 2: Then, you need to tap TV

  • Note: You won’t see the setting option if you have not the TV app downloaded. So, you have to download the TV app by visiting the App Store. Next, you need to return to Settings and tap TV.

Step 3: Now, you have to tap iTunes Videos

Step 4: Next, you’ll see Wi-Fi and Cellular under Playback Quality

Step 5: You can easily choose either Best Available or Good playback quality by tapping on each

  • Note: When you have Use Cellular Data for Playback turned off, cellular will turn grey

Step 6: After that, you have to tap Purchases and Rentals in the iTunes Videos menu

Step 7: Lastly, you can easily choose to play your iTunes Purchases and in High Definition or Standard Definition.
