How to Delete Frequently Visited Sites on iPhone

Step 1: First off, you need to open Safari and then tap the new tab icon

Step 2: Then, you have to open a new tab by tapping the plus sign icon in the middle at the bottom of the screen

Step 3: Here you can see your Favorites and a list of Frequently Visited sites

Step 4: Next up, you need to tap and hold the icon until it expands and the you need to lift your finger to remove a Frequently Visited site in Safari

Step 5: Lastly, above the website icon, you can see a delete option. To remove the site from your Frequently Visited list, you have to tap Delete

Note: This tip also works with an iPhone with 3D Touch but, you have to apply the right amount of pressure without activating Peek & Pop.

How to Browse in Private Mode

Safari allows you to use private browsing mode, if you don’t want to turn off Frequently Visited sites completely. You can use Private Mode because you won’t see sites you visit. You can do the following steps to browse privately:

Step 1: First off, you need to open Safari

Step 2: Then, you can see the new tab icon that looks like two overlapping squares and you have to tap it

Step 3: Next, you need to tap Private, located on the bottom left of the screen

Step 4: To begin browsing privately, you have to tap Done.

How to Delete Frequently Visited Sites on Google Chrome

As soon as you open app, your frequently and recently visited websites appear below the search bar in Google Chrome. If you don’t like this, follow the steps below:

Step 1: First off, you need to tap and hold the website icon

Step 2: Next, you need to tap Remove

Step 3: Then, you can clear your browsing history to delete ALL of your frequently visited sites in Google Chrome . To do this:

  • In the upper right corner of Chrome, you need to tap the three vertical dots
  • Then, tap History
  • And, at the bottom of the page, you have to tap Clear Browsing Data
  • Here, tap Clear Browsing Data and confirm Clear Browsing Data.

That’s all you need to do is to remove your frequently visited sites in Safari and Chrome.
