Telegram is a popular messaging service out there. Telegram has its own ground in the crowded messaging market where Facebook now dominates. What makes Telegram stand out lies in its exciting features that are missing from other competitors. One such features is voice recording. Telegram allows you to record a voice message of any length without the need for additional tools or third-party apps.
This is a great feature especially when your hands are dirty or you are in the middle of another task. However, at times the feature can become a cause of annoyance, as you could accidentally tap on the record button and your message will be sent without your permission.
In reality, Telegram doesn’t let you disable voice recording. Luckily, there is a simple workaround for disabling the feature on your iPhone.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to disable the voice recording feature in Telegram on your iPhone. Before we begin, make sure that you are running the most software update of the app on your iPhone.
Steps to disable voice recording in Telegram on your iPhone
Step one: First off, you need to launch Settings app from your iPhone’s home screen. Scroll down a little bit and head to Privacy
Step two: Next up, tap on Microphone and move to the next step
Step three: From the list of all the apps that are now using your iPhone’s microphone, turn off the switch for Telegram.
That’s it! By toggling off Telegram from the Settings app, you will not be able to use its voice recording feature. From now on, a popup will show up asking you to enable the microphone access to Telegram every time you hit the record button.
Note that you will not be able to use other features of Telegram that require microphone access on your iPhone. If you are one of those who frequently use voice calls in Telegram to stay in touch with your friends, turn on the switch.
